Purified Groats of Amaranth

TM “Shvedov” polished groats are almost white in color and don’t require any preliminary preparation or additional cleaning before use. A thin layer of the very hard outer shell of amaranth has been removed from each seed thus reducing the time needed for cooking by several times and revealing the taste of amaranth.

Using these groats, you’ll get a dietary super-porridge with the best vitamin and mineral composition and a record carbohydrates content in 5 minutes only. There’s only one nuance, the concentration of fiber in the groats is extremely low.

About the Use

In the process of cooking, it is very similar to semolina, especially in terms of appearance and its desire to get into lumps. The simplest recipe (from our own experience) is amaranth milk porridge. It’s simple, fast, and really tasty.

  • Add one part of amaranth groats to five parts of boiling milk;
  • Simmer for five minutes, stirring constantly;
  • Turn off and leave for several minutes.

You can also cook it using water but in such a case the taste of amaranth will be a bit bland. Therefore, you’ll have to add some spices or flavorsome ingredients to your taste. We’ll try different variants. As soon as we find a simple, proven, and very tasty recipe, it will be published here. We will also be grateful if you share yours.
